I used a loopy pattern to quilt it to look like breezy swirls. Click on the picture to see a close up view.
The dresden plate flower in the middle captured my heart for summer. I am so smitten that I have already started another lap quilt with these bright summer colors (for me!) with a variation of dresden plates, grandmothers fans and mini pinwheels. Can't wait to finish it!! Oh and my youngest wants one for her birthday :) Those squares are all cut, prepped and ready for assembly. That one will be a surprise. I better get crackin' since her birthday was the end of JUNE!! I know, I know.........but you see, the summer has been the best we've had in years and the beach keeps calling my name. AND I started back to work this week after being out for 8 months because of my car accident. Lots going on. All good.
Be sure to check out the Sew and Tell event going on over at AmyLouWho's here! You can also get there via the button on the top left hand side of my blog. Thanks for stopping by!
Happy sewing in the neighborhood!
