Cut them into the size you need. These are crib size.
Combine them with a nice soft backing and stitch around the edge with a 1/2 inch seam.
Turn inside out and presto, chango. An easy, quick, comfy cozy blanket for some lucky little person on your Christmas list. Let me know if you would like more detail on these.
Merry Holiday Sewing!
i know some lucky little ones who will be happy to snuggle up with these hand made full of love cozies!!
ReplyDeleteKate, these are so wonderful. I make something similar all the time so I always have a few to hand out when needed.
ReplyDeleteChristmas blessings to you, thank you for being part of my blog life.
Hi Kate! First I have to tell you that your mantel is wonderful, of course, the old sailor and the white starfish are my favorites. However, Mr. and Mrs. Claus holding hands just warmed my heart.
ReplyDeleteI have a question, can you make something like this to fit a double bed without having to quilt it? If I buy the fabric, wash it so it's preshrunk and then put it together like you did this crib-size one, will it come out of the washing machine intact or will it get all bungled up?
I'm asking, because here in Florida we seldom need a heavy quilt, but I see fabrics that I love and thought I could put together some nice lightweight blankets. Thanks for any advice you can share with me.
Happy 2011!
