Some new project ideas.........

This is the fabulous Moda snowflake fabric that I found at a great little quilt shop, Pickering Farms in New Hampshire. This will soon become a handy winter tote for some special person!

This treasure was found at the Brimfield Antique Show & Flea Market this year. I'm planning to make a giant pillow as a Christmas gift this year. The back will be a beautiful paisley tapestry fabric left over from a cushion I covered a few years ago.

This crazy quilt square is one of several. My daughter in law , Janel, who is also a quilter / crafter, has the other half of the set. All hand stitched. If you click on the picture you'll get much better detail. Whomever made these had an incredible talent! I haven't decided what to do with them yet, so any suggestions would be welcome........I keep taking them out and staring at them and rearranging them, they are so magnificent!

  1. I love that you woke up at 5:00 am to sew!! That is so inspiring :) i wish we could be quilting together!!! I am so excited to see what you do with your crazy quilt squares :) I can't wait!!! Did you see my quilt journal on my blog?

  2. Yes!! And I love it!! I'm so gonna copy cat your idea. I never thought of just making my own....great idea! You're so right that the other one is too small to do our quilting any justice.

  3. I think the crazy pieced blocks are just meant to be looked at and loved. Kind of like old pictures.

  4. You may be right Wanda. It will have to be a special project to warrant using these for.

  5. i looooove the snowflake fabrics momma... They are fantabulous! I need a new tote I think :) Or a quilted jacket for my bear hehe

So tickled that you stopped by to visit my quilting kitchen! I treasure and respond to every comment.
